Then I heard the voice of Adonai saying, "Whom should I send? Whom will go for us?" I answered, "I'm here, send me!"
-Isaiah 6:8
God has called each and every one of us to do something, the Great Commission.
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you."
- Matthew 28:19-20
How we do this is different for each of us. Some are called to preach, others to teach, others are artists, writers, etc. I have yet to find my calling. Sometimes, we are called to simple things, such as just talking to someone. As Paul says:
Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through
us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.
- 2 Corinthians 5:20
We are to represent Christ, we are His ambassadors. That's a pretty big deal. Like Isaiah we should be willing to be used God, we should say, "Send me!" whatever the circumstances are, We need to have willing hearts, though it's easy to have willing hearts, it's often our flesh that get in the way. We need to keep our flesh in check to make sure it's not preventing us from doing what God is wanting us to do. If it is, we need to get it straightened out!
So let's put our pride aside, straighten out our flesh, and as ambassadors of Christ ask God to send us to wherever He wants to take us.
