I have a lot of worship songs that are "triggers" for me on my iTouch I can't currently listen to until I get better.   So I was trying to think of some songs I could listen to that are uplifting, when I remembered this song.  

I want Christ to be the center of attention, but I have a short attention span (ADHD).  I try to spend a lot of time in prayer, especially with how mentally sick I've been lately.  I had an idol and that took away attention I could give to God.  But I no longer have that idol, so I try to fix my eyes on Jesus more.  But I will admit, it's very hard, not just because I'm trying to focus on someone who I've never met in person before, but I'm also very pessimistic.  It's hard to focus on a good God when you think everything sucks.  But when you're suffering, the best thing to do is fix your eyes on Christ!  

God created everything with one word.  He created man from dust and woman from a rib!  We were created by Him and for Him.  He holds everything together.  Even though the world seems like a mess right now, none of this surprises Him and He has it under control.  We are in the palm of His hands.

We need to fix our eyes on Christ.  He needs to be the center of our lives.  He wants to help us when we ask Him.  It doesn't always feel like He's actually helping us.  Sometimes it feels like He's acting against us.  But this isn't the case.  He knows what is best for us and I have to constantly remind myself this.  What I might think is best for me might not actually be best for me.  But He knows the desires of our hearts and while He may not give us everything we want, He gives us what we need when we need it.  So fix your eyes on Jesus, He's worth it!
